2017金球獎最佳女配角、最佳男配角二項大獎入圍。第21屆金衛星獎嶄露頭角，囊括最佳影片、最佳剪輯、最佳女配角、最佳男配角及最佳改編劇本等五項入圍，多倫多影展觀眾票選第二名。電影由《因為愛你》魯妮瑪拉、《貧民百萬富翁》戴夫帕托、《時時刻刻》妮可基嫚主演。 他5歲離家8900公里 Google Earth幫他找到25年前回家的路！ 《漫漫回家路》以暢銷書《漫漫歸途》(A long way home)真人實事改編成電影劇本，敘述5歲的薩魯布萊爾利（桑尼帕瓦 飾），跟著媽媽和哥哥生活在印度的小鄉村。某天他跟著哥哥去找工作，但是因為薩魯太累，哥哥要他在車站長椅上休息睡覺，但薩魯驚醒之後看不見熟悉的親人，跑到火車上去找哥哥卻因此被帶到千里之外的加爾各答，不識字又語言不通的薩魯只能流落街頭。 在善心人士的協助之下，薩魯被一對遠在澳洲的夫婦（大衛溫漢、妮可基嫚 飾）收養，卻也讓他離家越來越遠。25年後，薩魯（戴夫帕托 飾）開始按耐不住對親生母親和哥哥的日思夜想，決定展開艱辛的尋根之旅。他憑著兒時片段零碎的記憶，透過Google Earth模糊地形的拼湊，只為了重回母親的溫暖懷抱… 有趣的是，女星妮可基嫚在接演《漫漫回家路》之前，看了劇本後深受感動，原來她自己和前夫湯姆克魯斯就領養過2個小孩，而在《漫漫回家路》中妮可基嫚也在劇中領養了兩個小孩，其中一個就是薩魯。所以她對於領養小孩的喜悅、痛苦和壓力特別能夠感同身受，所以他覺得這部電影就是一封愛的情書給她養子們。
