On May 22nd 2015, Ion Hazzikostas announced in an interview with Polygon that there would be no flying in Warlords of Draenor or any future World of Warcraft expansions.
Needless to say, many of us were devastated by this news. Flying was an integral part of the WoW experience for us and it's loss was a deal breaker.
Many accounts were canceled, but what to do while the clock runs down on those subs? For some of us, a simple forum post wasn't enough. We wanted to make a stronger statement than that.
So that night, I was reading the main thread on the announcement and heard tell of a player by the name of Tenraiyoshi-Slivermoon who was slow walking around Azeroth to show his frustration with the current direction of the game. I joined him immediately upon seeing the post and we quickly amassed a full raid that walked from Desolace all the way to Ratchet, then to Stormwind, then to Borean Tundra and all the way to the lake behind Utgarde Keep where we finally ended the walk.
But I wasn't finished, so I decided to keep it going. We walked for over 13 hours the next day, and 8 more the day after that. This video is a collection of screenshots from that journey.
